Before the test

To purchase the Password Skills Plus test, please use this link.

Once you purchase the test, you will receive an email from Password confirming your purchase and providing you with a test login code to access the test. You will also receive an email from ProctorU with further instructions about creating your account and scheduling your test.

The email can take up to 2 working days. If it has been more than 2 working days since you purchased the test, please contact our support team at support@englishlanguagetesting.co.uk with your full name and payment confirmation.

The test takes 3 hours and 5 minutes to complete. You will be tested on reading, writing, listening and speaking. You may have one short break during the exam in between the different modules. You should also arrive 10 minutes early to your test to complete the check-in process. Please note, there is also an onboarding procedure before your test begins.

If you have a disability or a learning difference which requires special access arrangements to be made, you must inform us at least two months before your intended test date. You will also need to provide information (including medical certificates and/or reports) about your disability or learning difference so that accommodations can be considered for you to access the Password Skills Plus English language test. You should also familiarise yourself with the test content, sample questions and answers, and consider buying a 10-hour preparation course with free practice test, using this link. If you are ill, you can reschedule your test up to 24 hours before it is scheduled to be taken by logging in to your account free of charge.

During the test

If you logged in too late to take your Password Skills Plus test, or did not log in at all, no refund will be made. You must log in 10 minutes before your scheduled start time. If you still wish to take a Password Skills Plus test, there will be a charge for this. You will have to get in touch with Password Support, by emailing support@englishlanguagetesting.co.uk

You are responsible for checking your equipment and network, and ensuring it works properly. If you have technical problems with your equipment and/or network (PC, microphone and speaker, webcam, local Internet connection etc.) that mean you are unable to take the test, or have technical problems during the test which mean it cannot be completed, no refund will be made. If you still wish to take a Password Skills Plus test then email the Password Support Team with your test login and a brief explanation of what happened for further guidance. There may be further fees to pay in order to book a new test session. Please note that the internet is not guaranteed to be perfectly reliable and ELT cannot be responsible for internet problems outside of ELT’s and Meazure Learning’s servers and local networks.

If you logged in too late to take your Password Skills Plus test, or did not log in at all, no refund will be made. You may take the Password Skills Plus test up to three times (a first test and two retakes). To cater for circumstances such as test performance possibly being affected by ill health in a first test, a second (re-take) test can be booked and taken immediately after taking the first test. To take a third you must wait until 28 days have elapsed since the second test was taken.

After the test

Your results will be sent to the email address you supplied when you bought your test within five working days of completion of the test and will include a printable PDF results certificate.

Individual institutions can choose the period for which they will accept test results, though in common with other language tests two years is the usual period. Please speak to the institution that you wish to apply to if you have any doubts.

You may take the Password Skills Plus test up to three times (a first test and two re-takes). To cater for circumstances such as local technical problems meaning a test cannot be completed or test performance possibly being affected by ill health in a first test, a second (re-take) test can be booked and taken immediately after taking the first test. To take a third you must wait until 28 days have elapsed since the second test was taken.

You are only able to appeal within 14 days of receiving your disqualification email. In order to submit an appeal, please email compliance@englishlanguagetesting.co.uk. There is a fee to pay which is refundable if your appeal is successful. For more information, see the handbook.
